How to successfully lose weight (and never find it again)

Summer's coming up in a few months, and everyone is scrambling to get beach ready.
When I started working out and dieting in November, I was around 140 lbs.  Almost three months later, I'm down to 127 lbs, I've lost three inches off of my waist, half an inch off each of my thighs, and three off my hips.
The biggest, and hardest, change I made was my diet.
I cut out soda (except for the occasional sprite or something equivalent), candy (Except maybe one piece of chocolate every few days; don't want that valentine's box to go to waste!), and fast food.  I pay so much more attention to calories (4 chicken tenders at Chick-Fil-A = ~500 calories.  Dang!), and what I put into my body.

  • Whole grains/wheat
  • Fresh, not canned fruit
  • Vegetables (which I hate, but am trying!)
  • Lean meats
  • Water, water, water.
You have to pay a bit more to get the good stuff, but don't think of it like that.  Consider this:
While you can go to Mc Donald's and buy a full meal off the dollar menu, and you'll be full, what will you be full of?  Grease, fat, sodium, and preservatives.  Don't get me wrong, I. Love. Fast. Food.  I do.  But I'd rather go to the store, spend $40 on groceries, and buy whole wheat bagels, Kashi Go lean cereal, extra lean meat, whole grain spaghetti, and organic ragu, and be able to have breakfast lunch and dinner for a while.
Your body's like a car.  Put crappy, icky mucky gasoline in it, and it'll run awful.  Put premium gas with ethanol, and it'll run much smoother.

Now the easy part: Working out.
I run (almost) every morning for two miles.
I don't run the entire time, probably about a third of it all together.  But while I'm not running, I'm doing lunges, working out my arms as I walk, and things like that.  I give myself walking breaks on easy parts of the trail, and make myself run up the hills and whatnot.  I've never seen faster results.
Good luck <3

Long time no see!

Hello Hello Hello!
Sorry for my absence, I've been so busy!
I've been working out, planning birthday surprises for boyfriend, and attempting to pass my college classes (haha).
News:

  • I'm down to 125 lbs.
  • I've lost an inch and a half off my waist.
  • I'm editing videos right now to be posted before tonight (hopefully).
  • Boyfriend's 19th birthday was yesterday.
So, Now that birthday is over, I'll have a bit more time to keep up with everything.
I did record a valentine's day look, but the video was rubbish and sentenced to Azkaban, never to be seen or heard from again.

Birthday cake and jogging shoes,
Lissy

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...

Guess what's coming up!
...
Spring break!!
And you know what that means?
MORE RUNNING!
Hahaha.  I've lost thirteen pounds since November-ish (I was dieting before thanksgiving, but you know how holidays are torture).  I'm rockin' at 127 right now and I feel great.  But I'm not done!
Mondays Wednesdays Fridays and Sundays: Arms and belly
Tuesday Thursday Saturdays: Run like the wind!

I will hopefully be going on vacation for spring break (have to ask daddy...bum bum bummm...) and I'm about to buy a bathing suit from Victoria's Secret (...So.  Bummed.  The one I really reallllly want is on back order until March 17th, and spring break starts on like.  The twelfth.  I plan to be gone by then.  -_-).
Much sweat and excitement!
Your Lissy.

Oh my aching everything!

No one ever said working out was going to be easy...
But at least it can be fun!
The other night I played volleyball for...I don't know, maybe half an hour?  And the thing is, when it comes to me and sports, we don't like each other.  But I really tried this time!  I hit the ball, I moved for it, etc.
And it shows.  My arms are so bruised!  The most annoying part is, my butt is sore!  From kneeling and moving around and reaching for the ball!  But regardless, I had tons of fun at the time.  It's ridiculously warm here in Texas for being the end of January (I'm in shorts and a tee as I type this..Jealous? ^_~), so that means I have no excuse to get my butt outside.
This morning I took out my dog Roxy (half black lab half catahoula) for a run, and it about kicked. My.  Butt.
We ran from my house to the park (only about .3 miles), then ran the majority of the park, only stopping so she could smell everything, and ran about a fourth of the way from the park to my house.  Then I basically tried to get on her back and ride her home I was so tired.  But it was worth it!
All sweat and no tears,
Lissy.
